To force-Quit a single application: right click on the dock icon and select “quit” – or if it’s wedged, press the option key to toggle that to “force quit”
Multiple Windows of same application? command ` to toggle between them, or F10 to see them all.
Forward Delete: function + delete key
FTP application: I use Cyberduck (it’s free), works great and transmits data quickly (on my PCs I use WSFTP).
Text editor (html/programming): TextMate. BBEdit’s pretty good, too.

Howdy All,
I need your help so I can help others. I am taking all of my years of computer/tech support knowledge and putting it to use in the way of “Tips & Tricks” on my new web site.
- Is there anything you ever wanted to know how to do on a PC or Mac?
- What do you find to be the most frustrating thing to try to accomplish on a computer?
- If I were with you right now, what computer related question would you ask me?
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will attempt to answer all questions I receive.
You can leave your question in a comment below or you can Contact me thru aimeesblog.com.
Thanks & Have an Awesome Independence Day Holiday,
Aimee

On a Mac:
Want to take a quick picture of your desktop:
COMMAND KEY + SHIFT + 3
Want to take a picture of a specific section of your desktop:
COMMAND KEY + SHIFT + 4
(A cross hair will appear as your mouse pointer, then highlight your selection.)
These are great for making screenshots for websites and the .png files are saved right to your desktop.
For Windows:
Press your PrintScreen/PrtSrn button (normally located at the top right of your keyboard).
It copies an image of your screen onto the “clipboard” ready to paste into any graphics program or even into a Microsoft Office document (you will want to crop the image).
